Ebook readers, also known as "e-readers," are devices and software programs that display ebook files. Amazon's Kindle and Sony's Reader are two of the better known device-based e-readers, and Adobe's Digital Editions program is a commonly used e-reader software package. Additional hardware and software e-readers continue to be developed by a number of companies.
