"RSS" is short for "Really Simple Syndication," although some folks prefer "Rich Site Summary." RSS feeds are simple files that gather Web content from specific sites (blogs, newspapers, magazines, etc.) and then make that content available as free subscriptions. Many content publishers use RSS feeds to keep customers and consumers up to date on new material. For consumers, RSS offers a centralized way to stay abreast of news, updates and analysis from their favorite publishers and content sources
